Brief Summary
Edmund Optics is seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Manager to support the continued development of our Marketplace business in India. This role will focus on driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market presence across key industry segments.
The Sales Manager will work closely with regional leadership and cross-functional teams to implement sales initiatives, identify new opportunities, and deliver strong commercial performance in the Indian market.
Job Description
1. Sales & Business Development
- Drive Marketplace sales growth within the assigned territory.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market reach across relevant industry sectors such as industrial manufacturing, research institutions, life sciences, and semiconductor technologies.
- Identify new customer opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing accounts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
- Support pricing, channel development, and commercial positioning activities.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline visibility.
2. Team Collaboration & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with customer service, inside sales, and technical support teams to ensure high levels of responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Support alignment between sales and customer support functions to improve conversion and retention.
- Contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the commercial team.
- Foster strong collaboration across internal departments to support sales success.
3. Regional Coordination
- Collaborate with regional sales leadership to implement company sales programs and initiatives.
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to support product and commercial strategies.
- Contribute to regional reporting and performance tracking.
4. Operational Support
- Support efficient sales operations including forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, sales processes, and compliance standards.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements that enhance productivity.
Qualification Required
- 10+ years of experience in sales within optics, photonics, precision engineering, or related high-technology industries.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Strong understanding of customer segments within research, industrial, and technology markets in India.
- Demonstrated experience in business development and account management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multinational and cross-functional environment.
- Product and technology knowledge a must
- Strong commercial awareness and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
