Imaging Filters are Optical Filters designed to improve the image quality in imaging or other machine vision applications. Imaging Filters are often offered mounted to ease integration onto Imaging Lenses. Imaging Filters can be used to increase or decrease color temperature, block unwanted ultraviolet or infrared light, reduce overall light transmittance, or transmit light of only a specific axis of polarization.
Edmund Optics offers a wide variety of Imaging Filters for integration into a range of applications such as inspection, robotics, or factory automation. Shortpass Optical Filters remove red or NIR, while Longpass Optical Filters remove violet or blue light. SWIR Longpass Filters are designed to transmit SWIR light for use with InGaAs cameras or in a multitude of machine vision applications. ND Filters can be stacked to increase optical density, decreasing overall light throughput. Color Filters are ideal for use with black and white cameras to increase contrast and resolution.
